The awards presentation will commence at 4:30pm, revealing the amazing companies, products and people that have been selected as winners by both an independent judging panel and the industry itself.

The Vendies are back – and entries are extended until Friday 15 January!

After a period of postponement, The Vendies – the leading scheme for the recognition of excellence in the vending industry – are back to honour forward-thinking companies, innovative products and inspirational professionals from across the sector.

While proceedings were halted due to the pandemic, The Vendies has returned with a brand-new date for 2021 and entries have been reopened with an extended deadline of Friday 15 January.

Now more than ever it’s vital that the hard work of operators, suppliers and, of course, the professionals at the heart of companies across the vending industry, is recognised and celebrated. With that being said, submitting an entry in The Vendies couldn’t be easier.

To put yourself in with a chance to win, head to dedicated Awards website and take a look at the expertly curated array of categories and find your prime opportunity to shine. Then, put together a short statement and gather any supporting information and documents you feel are necessary to demonstrate why you deserve to win, and submit it all using the simple online entry portal. As always, entries are completely free of charge.

Nominations are also highly encouraged and can be submitted using the same online form.

All submissions made during the initial call for entries will remain eligible to compete, so if you’ve already taken the time to prepare and submit your entry, there’s no need to re-enter.

After the deadline of Friday 15 January, all eligible entries and nominations will proceed to the decision-making stage, in which scores allocated by a panel of industry experts and the results of an online vote will each hold a 50% weighting in the final decisions.

The Vendies 2020 postponed

Following the latest information and guidance from the World Health Organisation (WHO) and the UK government, Datateam Business Media has taken the decision to postpone The Vendies 2020, which was due to take place on Wednesday, June 3.

Event director Hannah Dedman comments: “While the entire Vendies team was looking forward to hosting this incredible industry celebration, we have taken the difficult decision to postpone the upcoming event as the safety and well-being of our attendees, staff and their communities is our number one priority.

“We are working hard with the venue and all contractors involved in the awards to confirm a suitable new date, and will keep everyone involved updated as the situation develops.”

As a result of this postponement, the entry deadline will be extended indefinitely to enable more outstanding companies to get involved and a revised schedule for the decision-making process will be announced in due course.

Tickets that have been purchased for the original date will be honoured for the rescheduled date and sponsors will continue to receive coverage via all of the relevant channels for the time being.

There are a range of categories to enter this year, including a number of new additions that have been introduced as a result of the changing face of the market. Entries can be submitted using the fuss-free online form available on The Vendies website, making it quick and easy to put yourself in the running, and as always it is completely free of charge to enter.

Nominations are also highly encouraged so if you know of a company or individual that is going above and beyond and deserves to be honoured, make sure you put them forward.

The Vendies 2020 Update: Entry deadline extended

Following industry feedback, The Vendies’ organiser Datateam Business Media has taken the decision to reopen entries for this year’s scheme with an extended deadline of Monday 27 April.

The team behind The Vendies recognises that many businesses have been busy taking great measures to adapt and overcome the current circumstances. In what is a period of uncertainty for many, it is vital that the outstanding efforts of suppliers, operators and professionals from across the vending industry are recognised.

The extension to the deadline will allow companies and individuals that have been hard at work adapting their businesses to the current climate a period of grace to finalise their submissions and make sure they’re in the running to win a prestigious accolade – and the recognition they deserve.

Event director Hannah Dedman comments: “We at The Vendies believe that now, more than ever, it is important that we continue our longstanding tradition of recognising the hard work being carried out by everyone in the vending industry.”

There are a range of categories up for contention this year, including a number of new additions that have been introduced as a result of the changing face of the market.

With this extension to the entry deadline, the voting period for this year’s scheme will be delayed until Monday 18 May.

An update regarding The Vendies 2020

In light of the Coronavirus outbreak, Datateam Business Media would like to assure all involved in The Vendies that they are monitoring the situation very closely.

Given the rapidly changing nature of the situation, official information and guidance is changing on a daily basis and the company hopes to do what it can to limit the impact on the vending industry – and provide something to look forward to during these difficult times.

With that being said, the safety and wellbeing of attendees, staff and their communities will always be the number one priority. Any decision to reschedule the event will be based on the most up-to-date guidance issued by the World Health Organisation (WHO) and any restrictions put in place by the UK government, and all stakeholders in the event will be kept informed as the situation develops.

Hannah Dedman continues: “I would like to assure everyone that is involved in The Vendies – or considering getting involved – that any money invested into the scheme will certainly not lose its value. Our incredible sponsors will continue to receive exposure as a supporter of this valued industry programme and any tickets purchased will be honoured should the event need to be rescheduled to a later date.

“Once we get through these difficult times, it will be incredibly important for manufacturers, suppliers and operators from across the vending industry to come together and celebrate what has been overcome – and myself and the team look forward to providing an opportunity for everyone to reconnect at The Vendies 2020.”
